A journey spanning thousands of years of a wandering people across the globe finds a point of convergence in a solo exhibition in Manhattan.
Artist Eli Gross presents a personal life journey that begins in a Hasidic family in Jerusalem, continues through reserve military service during Israel’s war for survival over the past two years, and leads to the creation of the Menorah of Hope. The Menorah was first displayed at Hostages Square in Tel Aviv and is now presented in the heart of Manhattan as part of this exhibition.
The exhibition explores identity, memory, survival, and continuity, using physical materials as witnesses to history and lived experience. Through sculpture and installation, past and present collapse into a shared space where exile, homeland, and hope coexist.
